Policy
Acceptable use
What this may and may not be used for. The short version: it explains materials, it does not judge people, and it must never be pointed at the people doing your work.

- 01The one rule this policy exists for
You may not use anything this service produces against the people doing your building work. Specifically, you may not use it:
- to withhold, reduce, delay or dispute a payment to anybody;
- in a claim, a demand, a complaint or a threat, whether made to the contractor or to anybody else;
- in a public review, star rating, forum post or social media post about a firm or an individual;
- as evidence, an exhibit or the basis of an allegation in any dispute, adjudication, mediation, arbitration or court proceedings;
- to assert to anybody that work has been done badly, slowly, dishonestly or improperly.
The reason is simple. This service has never seen your site, does not know which products were used, does not know the conditions there, and has no information about your contract at all. A general description of how a material behaves is not a finding about a particular job, and presenting it as one would be unfair to a business that may have done nothing wrong.
- 02The service stops rather than helping you do it
This is enforced in the product, not just written down here. If what you type reads as though it concerns a dispute, a payment, a complaint, fault or legal action, the service produces nothing at all — not a shortened reading, not a partial one, nothing.
It produces one sentence instead: this only explains why materials need time, it cannot tell you whether anyone is at fault, and it should not be used in a dispute.
A half-reading would still be the thing being asked for, which is why there is no such thing here.
- 03High-risk uses
This service must not be used to make, or to contribute to, any decision in these areas:
- medical or health decisions of any kind;
- legal advice, legal strategy or anything to be relied on in legal proceedings;
- financial, insurance or investment decisions;
- safety-critical decisions, including whether a structure, a surface or a material is safe to load, occupy or use;
- employment, engagement or dismissal decisions about any person or firm;
- credit, lending or creditworthiness decisions;
- housing decisions, including tenancy, letting or possession;
- any judicial, regulatory or enforcement process.
The safety one deserves a line of its own. This service does not tell you whether anything is safe. It describes ordinary waiting periods for materials in general terms; whether a particular slab will take a particular load, or a particular roof will take your weight, is a question for the people who built it.
- 04Ordinary misuse
- Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or to get round the allowance on your plan.
- Do not resell the output, or present it as your own professional advice to somebody else.
- Do not use it to impersonate anybody, or to produce anything that misrepresents what it is.
- Do not submit other people's personal information in the sentence you type. It is not needed and it should not be there.
- Do not use it if you are under 18.
- 05What happens if you breach this
We may suspend or end your access, and we will tell you why. Where a breach is serious — particularly where the output has been used against a contractor — we may end the account without further notice. If you think we have got that wrong, write to support@bakermartin.shop and a person will look at it.
- 06Reporting a problem
If you see the service being misused, or you are a contractor who has had something from this site used against you, please write to support@bakermartin.shop. We will look into it. The wider terms are in the terms of use.
If anything on this page is unclear, write to support@bakermartin.shop or call +44 7972840596. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time. We answer every message, and a person writes the reply.
