Plans

Three plans,
no trial, no
credit packs

Prices are in US dollars (USD) and include VAT at 20%. The price you see is the total you pay and the amount that recurs. There is no free trial, no introductory rate that later goes up, and no discount that expires into a higher price.

Reading a bar

  • Somebody on site
  • Waiting on a material
  • Longer because it is cold
  • If it is disturbed

Free

$0— no card needed

Enough to answer the question that brought you here: what is that quiet stretch actually waiting for.

What is in it

  • Three readings a month.
  • What each waiting stretch is waiting for, in one line.
  • The note that these are ranges rather than commitments, and the note to check the manufacturer's instructions — never covered, never abbreviated, on every plan.

What is not

  • The full waiting bar with every segment sized.
  • What makes each stretch take longer.
  • What happens if it is disturbed.
  • The one-line card, which carries a watermark on this plan.

Monthly allowance: 50. It does not carry over, and it cannot be topped up.

Waiting

$6a month, in USD, including VAT at 20%

or $58 a year, in USD, including VAT at 20%

For one stage that has gone quiet, when knowing why is not quite enough and you need to know what not to do next.

What is in it

  • Unlimited readings.
  • The full waiting bar: every stretch sized, labelled and shown as a range.
  • What makes each stretch take longer — cold, damp, no ventilation, thickness.
  • What happens if it is disturbed early, written as consequences rather than rules.
  • The one-line card, with no watermark, to send to whoever else is asking.

What is not

  • Several stages joined into one run.
  • Saved projects.

Monthly allowance: 400. It does not carry over, and it cannot be topped up.

Wholejob

$18a month, in USD, including VAT at 20%

or $173 a year, in USD, including VAT at 20%

For a whole project, where the quiet stretches overlap and the question is which of them are actually holding everything else up.

What is in it

  • Everything in Waiting.
  • Several stages joined into one continuous run, so you can see which waits overlap and which stack.
  • Saved projects, so you can come back to the same job as it moves.
  • A print sheet for the whole run.

Monthly allowance: 1500. It does not carry over, and it cannot be topped up.

Where the line falls, and why

A short bar above a much longer one. The longer bar repeats the same sections and adds a further stretch of work for doing it again.

The upper bar is a stage left alone. The lower one is the same stage done twice. The difference between them is what a plan is trying to save you.

A wide illustration of one wall whose tone shifts in three steps from damp and dark at the left to pale and even at the right.

The free plan answers the question that brought you here: what is that quiet stretch waiting for. “The plaster is giving off water” settles the argument in the kitchen, and it is free because it should be.

What a plan adds is the part that changes behaviour. That an unheated room in winter turns a couple of days into a week or more. That painting it early turns a couple of days into a fortnight and a re-plastered wall. And one card, without a watermark, that you can hand to whoever in the house is asking why nobody has been.

One avoided re-plastering costs more than a year of this. That is the whole argument for paying, and if it does not apply to you, the free plan is not a trap — it does not expire and it is not a trial.

On every plan, including the free one, the note that these are ranges rather than commitments and the note to check the manufacturer’s instructions are shown in full. The free card’s watermark sits across the bar and the sentence and never over those two.

What uses the allowance

Allowance used by each action
Asking about a stage1
Cutting the timeline into segments2
The waiting bar and the one-line card5

The allowance is an allowance for using this service. It is not money, not stored value, not redeemable for cash, not transferable and it does not carry over. There are no credit packs and no top-ups on this site — if you are running out, the answer is a plan that suits you better.

Renewal and cancelling

  • A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it.
  • A separate reminder email goes out before every renewal. Its own email, not a line in something else.
  • You have 14 days to cancel after you first subscribe, and a further 14 days after each renewal.
  • Cancelling takes two clicks from your billing page. No reason, no phone call, no email to anybody.
  • There is no free trial and no introductory price. If we ever change the price of your plan, we tell you first and you can leave before it applies.

Paying

  • Prices are in US dollars (USD) and include VAT at 20%. Your bank may convert into your own currency at its own rate.
  • Card details never reach this site. Payment is taken by a third-party provider certified to PCI DSS Level 1, over an encrypted connection, and the card data goes directly to them.
  • We are told that a payment succeeded, the last four digits and the card type. Nothing else.
  • This is a digital service delivered immediately. Nothing is shipped, so there is no delivery charge and no returns process.

The agreement itself is the terms of use.
